Brigade Reconnaissance Force - 1st Mechanized Brigade

A Chinook helicopter lands to pick up soldiers with 1st Mechanized Brigade's Brigade Reconnaissance Force (BRF) following an operation in enemy territory, Afghanistan. 1st Mechanized Brigade's is, at time of writing, deployed to Helmand Province for Operation Herrick 18. Its Brigade Recce Force comprises of troops from the Household Cavalry Regiment and 4 Rifles, along with various specialist elements such as artillery spotters, signallers, engineers and Light Electronic Warfare Teams (SIGINT). The BRF's role is to carry our Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition, and Reconnaissance (ISTAR) and search and destroy operations.
