40 Commando - Sharpshooter

A Royal Marine with 40 Commando pictured with a L129A1 Sharpshooter rifle on operations in Afghanistan. The L129A1 is a semi-automatic 7.62mmx51mm light sniper rifle designed to give British infantry squads the ability to accurately engage targets with rapid fire out to ranges beyond the capabilities of other man-carried weapons such as the SA80A2. The L129A1 features a folding bipod, fore grip and an ACOG 6x48 scope with red dot reticule for close quarters target acquisition.
