Royal Marines - Boarding Team

A Royal Marines boarding team, pictured aboard a RIB piloted by Royal Navy sailors assigned to HMS Dauntless. Such boarding teams have recently been employed in counter-piracy operations in the Gulf Of Aden, counter-drugs smuggling operations in the Caribbean and enforcing the arms embargo against Libya. The Royal Marines maintain a capability to intercept, board and search a range of vessels from small pirate skiffs up to oil tankers. Such operations will often be supported by Lynx or Merlin helicopters, sometimes with a Maritime Sniper Team onboard to provide over watch.
