British Special Forces - Iraq

British Special Forces (Special Air Service/ Special Forces Support Group) pictured on operations in Iraq. During the peak of British Special Forces operations in and around Baghdad, UKSF were carrying out operations almost on a daily basis. Most operations involved raids on Al Qaeda / insurgent targets and were often based on intelligence gathered on previous operations. 22 SAS and the SFSG would typically carry out joint operations, with the SAS 'blades' storming the objective while the SFSG provided security or acted as a backup force.
