Royal Marines Selection - How To Join
The Royal Marines training regimen is one of, if not the, toughest military selection process in the world. Before the 32 week recruit training takes place, those hoping to join the Royal Marines must undergo a grueling initial selection process.
Eligibility
To attempt to become a Royal Marine, the following requirements apply :
- male
- ages 16-33
- no formal academic qualifications required
- British, Irish or Commonwealth citizenship
Initial Selection
- Academic Tests
- Reasoning
- English Language
- Numerical
- Mechanical Comprehension
- A personal interview
- Pre-joining fitness test
- Potential Royal Marines Course (PRMC)
A 3-day course held at Commando Training Centre Royal Marines (CTCRM) at Lympstone, Devon, to assess the recruit's suitability for life in the Royal Marines- Gym Test 1
