UKSF Joint Hunt For Kidnapped Brit
13.09.2011
It is being reported that elements of United Kingdom Special Forces (UKSF) are participating in the hunt for a British woman kidnapped in Kenya.
Judith Tebbutt, 56, was kidnapped by an armed gang during an attack at a remote tourist village in Kenya in the early hours of Sunday morning, during which her husband, David Tebbutt, 58, was killed. It is feared that Mrs Tebbet may have been taken by Al-Shabaab Islamic militants and has since been moved to neighbouring Somalia.
British special forces have now been brought in, it has been revealed. A contingent from the 22nd Special Air Service (SAS) have been advising Kenyan authorities in their search for Mrs Tebbutt. The latest reports state that a team from the Special Boat Service (SBS), as well as a Royal Marines unit, have now been also deployed. The SBS and Royal Marines have been operating in a counter piracy role in the region for some time.
