SAS Capture British Couple In Afghanistan
26.07.2011
A British special forces raid in Afghanistan captured a British couple - a man and woman of Afghan origin with dual citizenship - who were suspected of planning attacks in the UK, the Telegraph has reported. Following an intelligence operation by MI6, GCHQ and Afghan intelligence, the SAS raided a property in Herat, in western Afghanistan, earlier this month. This is the first time that British nationals have been captured alive in Afghanistan. Several have reportedly carried out suicide bombings or been killed in combat.
