Gunnery team two of Delta Troop, 8 ALMA Battery, 29 Commando Royal Artillery Regiment (RAR) fire a L118 105mm howitzer from a base at Musa Qel'eh, Afghanistan. 29 Commando RAR is part of 3 Commando Brigade. Its personnel are all Commando Trained. Alma Battery is also known as 'Black Eight' due to its exploits at the Battle of Alma, 1854, where the Battery fired so many rounds that ther faces turned black from gun powder stains. Alma Battery consists of 6 L118 105mm guns and 3 observation parties.
