S Squadron is one of 3 rifle squadrons within 43 Commando. Their role includes maritime security operations e.g. counter-piracy and counter-terrorism. The squadron deploys Fleet Standby Rifle Troops on maritime security operations around the world. The squadron's Fleet Contingency Troop (FCT) is trained to perform non-compliant boardings i.e. taking control of maritime objectives while opposed by hostile forces.
